05. & 06. April - Easter at the Crispendorf holiday railway
The 2026 driving season starts at Easter.
Easter Sunday and Easter Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
When colorful eggs and a colorful train meet amidst blossoming nature, it's Easter again.
The Crispendorf holiday railway traditionally kicks off its season on Easter Sunday.
On tracks just 60 centimeters wide, it's time to set off again for numerous trips along the 2.1-kilometer circular route.
On Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., the two battery-powered locomotives, Crispi and Maja, depart from the Festwiese station at intervals of up to 10 minutes. A chance encounter with the Easter Bunny is not out of the question!
The café on the platform invites you to linger with hot meals, drinks, coffee and cake, and ice cream, all amidst the blossoming nature.
And of course, there's a bouncy castle too!
The volunteer members of the association have renewed approximately 80 meters of track in recent months.
This involved installing 60 tons of ballast, nearly 100 new sleepers, and a drainage system.
Track construction is one of the many activities undertaken by the association's members and, besides the vehicles,
is the most expensive area financed by donations and fares.
From Easter until the end of October, the trains run on certain days and by request.
The bathing train can be booked for children's birthdays or other events. The Crispendorf Holiday Railway Association (Ferienlandeisenbahn Crispendorf e. V.)
operates and maintains the tracks and vehicles to preserve this charmingly situated gem for locals and tourists.
Many hours of volunteer work are dedicated to carrying out all the same tasks as on a full-scale railway, because the legislation
makes no distinction between small and large trains. Helping hands are always welcome!
The holiday railway runs along the Wisenta and intersects the Saale-Wisenta-Plothengrund circular hiking trail.
The holiday railway is a good starting point for a short walk. From the ridge, you can look down to the Saale River, and the Wisenta Dam is within sight.

- 17. & 18. Oktober Mulled Wine Rides - Autumn rides with mulled wine and children's punch.
- 31. Oktober Halloween Rides - Children in costume ride free.
Our bouncy castle will be set up on all ride days, and we offer ice cream, drinks, and hot snacks.
On weekends and holidays, we also offer coffee and cake between 2 pm and 5 pm.
Additional offers will be announced on our website.
